Money is personal, and everyone has their preferred way to pay. We get that. So we've set up our checkout to accept pretty much every major payment method you'd expect from a modern online store. Here's what works at SneakersYard and what you need to know about paying for your sneakers.

Credit and Debit Cards

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. These are the big four, and they cover most card users globally. Whether it's a credit card, debit card, or prepaid card with one of these logos, it'll work in our system.

When you enter your card details at checkout, the transaction is processed through secure encrypted connections. We don't store your full card number on our servers. The payment processor handles that information according to strict industry security standards.

Your card will be charged immediately when you complete your order. We don't do holds or pre authorizations that take days to clear. The charge hits your account right away, and your order goes into processing.

If your card gets declined, it's usually because of insufficient funds, incorrect billing address information, or your bank flagging the transaction as potentially suspicious. International cards sometimes get rejected by overzealous fraud detection systems. If this happens, contact your bank to authorize the charge, then try again.

Apple Pay

If you're shopping on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or using Safari browser, you can check out with Apple Pay. It's fast, secure, and uses the card you already have stored in your Apple Wallet.

Apple Pay transactions are authenticated with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. We never see your actual card number. Apple generates a one time token for the transaction, which keeps your payment info private.

This is the fastest checkout option we offer. Literally two taps and you're done. Your shipping address and payment info auto populate from your Apple account.

Google Pay

Android users and anyone with a Google account can use Google Pay at checkout. It works similarly to Apple Pay, pulling payment and shipping details from your Google account for quick checkout.

Google Pay also uses tokenization to protect your card information. The transaction is authenticated through your Google account security, whether that's a fingerprint, PIN, or password.

Like Apple Pay, this speeds up checkout significantly. No typing in long card numbers or addresses. Just authenticate and confirm.

Security and Fraud Prevention

All payments are processed through PCI DSS compliant systems. That's the payment card industry security standard that ensures your financial information is handled properly.

We use SSL encryption for all transactions. You'll see the padlock icon in your browser address bar when you're on our checkout page. That means data traveling between your device and our servers is encrypted and can't be intercepted.

Our fraud detection systems monitor transactions for suspicious patterns. Occasionally, legitimate orders get flagged, especially if you're ordering from a new location, using a VPN, or if your billing and shipping addresses are in different countries.

If your order gets flagged, we'll contact you to verify it's really you making the purchase. This might feel annoying, but it protects both you and us from fraudulent transactions. Just respond to our verification email and we'll get your order moving.

Currency and Conversion

Our prices are displayed in US dollars, but your bank will handle currency conversion automatically if you're paying with a card issued in a different currency.

The exchange rate used is determined by your card issuer, not by us. It'll typically be the rate from the day your transaction processes, and your bank may add a small foreign transaction fee depending on your account terms.

Failed Payments

If your payment fails, you'll see an error message at checkout explaining why. Common reasons include incorrect card numbers, expired cards, mismatched billing addresses, insufficient funds, or your bank blocking the transaction.

Double check all your information and try again. If it keeps failing, contact your bank. They can tell you exactly why the charge isn't going through.

Split Payments

We don't currently support splitting a purchase across multiple payment methods. You can't pay half with a gift card and half with a credit card, or split between two different cards.

Pick one payment method and use it for the full order total. If you don't have enough on one card, use a different card that can cover the full amount.

Payment Confirmation

Once your payment processes successfully, you'll receive an email confirmation immediately. This email includes your order number, items purchased, shipping address, and payment amount.

If you don't receive this email within a few minutes, check your spam folder. If it's not there, contact us with your payment confirmation number or receipt and we'll look up your order.

Refunds

When we issue refunds, they go back to whatever payment method you used originally. Credit and debit card refunds typically appear within five to ten business days, though it can take longer depending on your bank's processing speed.

We can't refund to a different card or payment method than you used originally. The money goes back the same way it came in.

Payment Issues and Support

If something goes wrong with your payment, contact us. Don't keep trying to process the same card over and over. Multiple failed attempts can trigger fraud alerts with your bank and make things worse.

We can see what error message the payment processor returned and usually help you figure out what's causing the problem. Sometimes it's something simple you can fix immediately.

Save Your Payment Info

If you create an account with us, you can save your payment information for faster checkout next time. This is optional. Some people like the convenience, others prefer to enter it fresh every time.

Saved payment info is stored securely through our payment processor, not on our servers. You can delete saved payment methods anytime from your account settings.

Our Philosophy

We want paying for sneakers to be the easiest part of your shopping experience. That's why we support multiple payment options and prioritize security without making checkout feel like you're applying for a mortgage.

Pay however you want. We're flexible. Just make sure your information is accurate and your payment method has sufficient funds. After that, we'll take care of the rest.
